Your Retreat, Our Setting

Lake Hāwea View is a private basecamp for facilitators and groups who run their own retreats: yoga, meditation, breathwork, active adventure and wellness of every kind. Set high above the glacial blue of Lake Hāwea and framed by the Southern Alps, it is a place built for stillness, focus and connection.

We provide the space and the support. The day to day itinerary and overall experience is yours to get creative with.

THE SPACE

Room to Gather

Indoor Space

A flexible 7 by 9 metre indoor space in our main living area for yoga, meditation and workshops, warm, spacious and quite.

Outdoor Space

The shelted grounds opens into an outdoor studio, with uninterrupted views across the lake and mountains as your backdrop.

Two Full Kitchens

Two fully equipped kitchens make catering simple, whether you cook together or bring in a private chef for an enhanced experience.

Connection to nature

Lake Hawea View sits at the centre of some of the most spectacular terrian for movement and immersion in nature between sessions.

Room to Stay

Lake Hāwea View comfortably accommodates up to 14 guests across 7 bedrooms. For larger groups, our nearby partner properties — Earth Cottage and Thuis in Hawea — provide accommodation for a further 16 guests, ensuring everyone can stay within close proximity and remain connected throughout the retreat experience.

Time in the sauna or hot tub, meaningful community connection, and the option to enjoy a glass of Central Otago pinot at sunset create a relaxed and supportive environment for physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.

Set within a powerful natural landscape, the retreat brings together ancient breath techniques, nervous system training, meditation, cold water immersion and modern insights into neuroscience, biohacking, peak performance and flow. Guided by Laura and the Live Wild team, guests are supported to reconnect with themselves, nature and the group experience, while building practical tools for mental, emotional and physical wellbeing.

From Lake Hāwea View, guests are immersed in the surrounding natural environment — traversing ancient forests, crossing glacial rivers, moving through gorges and seeking out hidden swimming holes for cold water immersion. Led by experienced teachers and guides, the retreat encourages each guest to become the cartographer of her own map, discovering the deeper treasure within herself.
