A One of a Kind Setting

A One of a Kind Setting

Set across 25 acres on the mountainside, high above the glacial blue of Lake Hāwea, Lake Hāwea View is a one of a kind setting in the heart of the Southern Alps. The stone and cedar homestead has been architecturally designed to frame the landscape at every turn, from the kitchen and dining spaces to the outdoor living areas, each opening onto uninterrupted views of the lake and snow capped peaks beyond.

It is a rare place to marry. We provide the setting and the foundations to build on, with complimentary event supplies, simple systems that take the stress out of planning, and a trusted network of local suppliers who know the venue intimately. The setting is ready, and everything after is beautifully yours.

Venue & Accommodation

Lake Hāwea View brings together a beautifully appointed home and a private event venue, a setting to celebrate, connect and unwind. The main residence and adjoining guest wing together sleep up to 14 guests, an intimate space to gather with loved ones before your day, and to relax afterwards.

For larger groups, our neighbouring partner properties extend the experience, accommodating up to 30 guests within easy walking distance. The Earth Cottage, a self contained three bedroom retreat with breathtaking lake and mountain views, sits just a five minute walk away. Thuis in Hawea offers beautifully appointed accommodation for up to 10 guests, moments from the main venue. And for added flexibility, Te Awa Riverside Family Retreat, a seven minute drive away beside the Hāwea River, sleeps up to a further 20 guests, subject to availability.

Ceremony & Reception

Exchange vows on a sweeping, manicured lawn framed by the teal waters of Lake Hāwea and the snow-capped Southern Alps. A setting that needs little adornment. The mountains and the lake form a natural backdrop that turns even the simplest ceremony into something that feels genuinely cinematic.

The lawn is generous and completely flexible. Dress it exactly as you've imagined, whether that's a spare, intimate exchange or a grand celebration beneath open sky. Every package includes a curated selection of complimentary event supplies, giving you a beautiful foundation to build from without starting from scratch. For Intimate and Small events, the main dining room becomes the reception space. High ceilings, an open fire, a table built for long evenings. Previous guests have shaped it every way imaginable, and we're happy to share what's worked. For Grand events, a marquee of your choosing opens the celebration back out to the landscape, with the lake and mountains as the constant backdrop.
